Wildcats move to 3-0 in SoCon play

Davidson backcourt buries Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - A trio of Davidson guards helped the Wildcats remain unbeaten in the Southern Conference with a 92-80 win against Chattanooga on Monday night.

Freshman Stephen Curry scored 30 points and had 10 rebounds, and junior point guard Jason Richards had 19 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for Davidson. Sophomore Max Paulhus Gosselin added a career-high 22 points, including 16 in the first eight minutes......

Mocs fall to Curry’s 30

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga forgot the lessons learned Saturday in a win over Oral Roberts faster than Stephen Curry could nail a 3-pointer.

The phenomenal freshman guided Davidson to a 92-80 Southern Conference basketball victory over the Mocs before a Monday night crowd of 2,930 in McKenzie Arena.

"I’ve been coming to this arena for a long time, and traditionally the games we play are hard-fought, exciting games, up and down with runs, and this was a classic example of that experience," Davidson coach Bob McKillop said. "We answered every great play by Chattanooga. Somebody on our team stepped up to answer, particularly in our backcourt.

"Every time they were hitting us with a dagger, we responded."

Most of the Wildcats’ stinging blows came from Curry’s fingertips. He scored 30 points on 11-of-21 shooting and had 11 rebounds and six assists for Davidson (9-3, 3-0). Curry, a freshman, scored 18 points in the second half and hit six 3-pointers......

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- The backcourt trio of Stephen Curry, Max Paulhus Gosselin and Jason Richards combined for 71 points to lead the Davidson Wildcats to their fifth straight victory in a 92-80 triumph at SoCon foe Chattanooga Monday evening at The McKenzie Arena. The victory for Davidson was just their third against the Mocs on their home court in 18 tries as the Wildcats remained unbeaten in league play at 3-0 and improved to 9-3 overall. Chattanooga fell to 5-6 and 0-2 in conference play....

Curry, Davidson Shoot Past Mocs

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.--Freshman Stephen Curry scored 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Davidson claimed a 92-80 Southern Conference road win at Chattanooga’s McKenzie Arena for only the third time in school history.

Curry, the son of 15-year NBA veteran Dell Curry, was 6-of-13 from three-point range and had six assists to lead Davidson in both categories.....
