Chattanooga Times Free Press article
SoCon has ‘a lot of parity’
By David Uchiyama Staff Writer
Each Southern Conference men’s basketball team has its own story about eight games into the season.
For Davidson the surprise has been pleasant....
...Davidson opened 2-0 with wins over Elon and UNC Greensboro. The Wildcats also beat Illinois-Chicago and smacked Charlotte despite having only two players with significant experience.
"They have a winning program," UTC coach John Shulman said.
"They’ll be good no matter whether they have seven seniors or 43 freshmen. I wasn’t surprised, but I think a lot of other people were."
Price admitted he thought the Wildcats would slip a little this season after losing six* seniors from the championship team.
"Coaches are shaking our heads again," Price said. "They’re obviously not rebuilding. They’re reloading."
(*Actually, that was seven, not six, seniors we lost.)
