Sander Becomes Second Wildcat to Earn SoCon Player of the Week HonorsDAVIDSON, N.C. — Junior Thomas Sander of the Davidson men’s basketball team has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 5 as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon. Sander becomes the second Wildcat to earn the nod after freshman Stephen Curry was tabbed Nov. 20.
A 6-8 forward from Cincinnati, Ohio, Sander averaged 18.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in helping Davidson to a pair of conference victories over Elon (86-61 / Dec. 1) and UNC Greensboro (66-63 / Dec. 4).
