In December 1968, Sport Illustrated featured Davidson (Mike Maloy) on it's cover as one of the three teams (UNC & Kentucky also featured) that could challenge John Wooden's UCLA Bruins and their stranglehold on the national title.

Chambers Building, Davidson College
The numerous Southern Conference Championship banners as well as the numerous NCAA tournament and NIT banners hanging in Belk Arena represent the winning tradition of Davidson College Basketball.
Adding to the collection: Banners for the 2007 SoCon Championship and 2007 NCAA Tournament will be added next fall.

I note ESPN Bracketology has now decided that Davidson has played themselves right out of the NCAA in favor of Elon as the 16th seed in its bracket.
